Iranian animation ‘Junk Girl’ is to be screened at FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival in Portugal.
The multi-award-winning Iranian animation ‘Junk Girl’ by Shalale Kheiri and Mohammad Zare is about a doll girl made of junk, which is mistreated by others and forced to leave her city.
The flick’s story is inspired from a poem by Tim Burton titled ‘The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories’.
The 15-minute animation has so far gone on to win 33 awards from multiple film festivals around the world.
FEST – New Directors | New Films Festival is a unique celebration of film and gathering of filmmakers. FEST is an annual film festival that occurs in Espinho, Portugal.
The event is focused on creating a space for up-and-coming filmmakers, to show and promote their work, develop their skills, offer new opportunities, and develop new audiences for independent cinema.
